Perform the following steps to diagnose and correct the problem:
Check the red alarm LED on the craft interface:

If it is lit, read the message on the craft interface LCD. The display reports the number
of alarm conditions and the source of each alarm, as described in "M40e Craft
Interface LCD Description" on page 36. For a list of messages, see "M40e Chassis
and Interface Alarm Messages" on page 147. Issue the following CLI command for
more information about the cause of an alarm condition:

A common cause of power supply shutdown is that the temperature of the power
supply or another router component has exceed the maximum limit.
