Transparent
- The DATASET
2100 Series can operate
in transparent
synchronous
mode.
Because
the connections
are usually established
for a long time (compared
to
asynchronous
connections)
and are important
parts of a large data communications
network,
the D channel
connection
is held up while the connection
is established.
The network
management
process
can obtain
statistics
on traffic
and error rates
while a call is in progress
from this D channel.
When
one DATASET
2100 drops its
