Communication with the Host
Serial Interface (Host Link)
Communicates with a host such as a programmable controller via a serial interface in the host link
format. There is no need to set a communications program at the programmable controller side. Set
Host link for Mode at SYS/Communication/RS-232C/422.
Refer to page 236.
Only a 1:1 connection can be used with the host link mode. 1:N connections are not supported.
• SET mode
Command input is not accepted.
• MON mode
Command input is accepted, but reading results are not output to the serial interface. They are just
confirmed on the monitor.
• RUN mode
Possible to input commands and output the reading results.
When the host link mode is used, if the power to the programmable controller is turned OFF, the setting for
Mode at SYS/Communication/RS-232C/422 is automatically set to Normal.
If there is a problem using this serial interface specification, communicate using the no-protocol format.
