1. Turn off the power.
2. Install one pair of memory modules.
3. Turn on the power.
Does the system stop with a memory checkpoint displayed on the operator
panel?
NO
YES

The failure may be caused by the last pair of memory modules installed or the memory
card. To isolate the failing FRU, do the following:
1. Turn off the power.
2. Exchange the last memory module pair installed.
3. Turn on the power.
Does the system stop with a memory checkpoint displayed on the operator
panel?
NO
YES
Repeat this step until all the memory modules are installed and tested.
If all the memory modules have been installed, reseating the memory modules
on the memory card has corrected the problem.
