Action / Possible Failing FRU
1. Check level of service processor
firmware; update if necessary.
2. If problem persists, call for support.
1. Check modem configuration in
service processor menus.
2. Check modem connections.
3. Replace the I/O board. (See note on
page 93.)
1. Copy the flash update image onto a
brand new diskette that has been
dos-formatted.
2. The image name on the diskette
must be "spflash.img".
3. Verify that the flash update image is
the correct one for the machine
type.
4. Turn ac power off, then on, and
retry flash update.
5. Replace diskette drive.
Copy the flash image onto a new,
dos-formatted diskette and retry the
flash update.
Replace the I/O board. (See note on
page 93.)
Go to "Boot Problems/Concerns" on
page 90.
1. Unplug the machine from ac power,
wait a few moments, and attempt to
reboot. Pay close attention to the
progress code the machine hangs
on (if it does hang on one) and refer
to description of that progress code
.

programming a few times.
