Removal of Adapters

This section covers the removal of adapters.
1. If you have not already done so, shut down the system as described in "Stopping
the System Unit" on page 224.
2. If you have not already done so, unplug the system unit power cable from the
electrical outlet.
3. If you have not already done so, remove the front, rear, and left side covers as
described in "Removal of Covers" on page 226.
4. Record the slot number and location of the adapter being removed.
5. Label any cables attached to the adapter being removed.
6. Disconnect any cables that are connected to the adapter being removed.
7. Remove the screw that holds the adapter bracket to the system unit.
8. Remove the adapter from the system unit.
9. If you are not installing another adapter in this slot location, replace the expansion
slot cover. Slide the cover over the expansion slot and tighten the screw on the top
of the expansion slot cover.
