6 Problem Solving
Staple Jams in the Staple Cartridge
The following describes how to clear staple jams in the staple cartridge.
1
Make sure that the machine has stopped
before opening the finisher right door.

Hold [R1] at the position shown in the figure.

Pull out the unit.
Note

Open the unit as shown in the figure and
remove the jammed staple.
Be careful in removing jammed
staples.

Push the removed unit back to the original
position.

Close the finisher right door.

• After removing the unit, check the inside
of the finisher for any remaining staples.
CAUTION
• A message will be displayed and the machine will not operate if the finisher right door is
even slightly open.
