Command Reference
The disks imported to a disk group cannot be initialized.
Modes

Administrator level.
Usage Guidelines
If you run the command vxdisksetup [-if] disk-device-address, please do not power off the
controllers.
You can initialize a disk and set the disk to being controlled by the VIS6000 by running the
command vxdisksetup -i disk-device-address. If the operation does not run properly, you must
set the –f parameter.
Example
To initialize disk Disk_20 and set it to being controlled by the VxVM, do as follows:

Run the command vxdisk list to check the current status of disk Disk_20.

is, the disk is online but not controlled by the VxVM.
Run the command vxdisksetup to set disk Disk_20 to being controlled by the VxVM.
