Displays the mode of the
vxconfigd program.
Starts the vxconfigd
program.

The three modes are
described as follows:
enabled: normal running
l
mode. Most of
configuration and
operations can be
performed in the mode.
disabled: inactive mode.
l
Most of configuration and
operations cannot be
performed in the mode.
The vxconfigd program
cannot keep the
configurations and paths
of volume devices that are
imported into a disk group.
booted: system start mode.
l
The system accesses the
booted mode before the
root file system is
checked. The booted mode
is the normal startup mode
of the system. If the root
disk is controlled by the
VxVM, the start disk
group is imported into the
root disk after the system
start mode is accessed. If
the root disk is not
controlled by the VxVM,
the root disk cannot be
imported into the disk
group. After that, the
vxconfigd program runs
the command for the
booted mode. You cannot
maintain the node list of
volume devices in start
mode, because data cannot
be written to the root file
system.
