Description
Restores one or more volumes from a specified snapshot
volume.
Separates a snapshot volume from the source volume and
from the snapshot layer.
Waits for synchronization completion on a volume.
Deletes the DCO volume associated with a volume. The
DCO volume is created by using the command vxsnap
prepare. In addition, the DRL and FastResync functions
on the volume are disabled. If the volume already belongs
to the snapshot layer, the operation fails.
You can create a mapping by running the command vxsnap -g diskgroup addmap
volume number [alloc=storage_attributes].
You can create one more snapshot mirrorings and associate them with a volume by running
the command vxsnap [-b] [-g diskgroup] addmir {snapvol|snapobject} [nmirror=N]
[attributes ...]. By default, if the value of nmirror is not specified, the command vxsnap
addmir adds one snapshot mirroring to a volume. The state of a mirroring is SNAPATT
if synchronization is not completed. Synchronization can be performed in background
mode if you use the –b parameter. After synchronization, the state of the mirroring is
SNAPDONE.
You can separate an original volume or volume set from a snapshot volume by running the
command vxsnap [-f] [-g diskgroup] dis {volume|volset} [snapvol|snapobject]. The
snapshot volume is independent. If two volumes are in different disk groups, you need to
run the command for either volume separately.
You can create an instant snapshot by running the command vxsnap -g diskgroup [-o optarg
[,optarg]...] make snapshot_tuple [snapshot_tuple]... [alloc=storage_attributes]
[comment=\"comment\"]. If a mirroring volume is being synchronized, before it is in the
ACTIVE state, you cannot run the command vxsnap make to create a snapshot volume.
You can run the command vxsnap snapwait after the synchronization is complete. The
snapshot can be created by using an existing cache object or a new cache object in the disk
group.
