Issue 06 (2010-05-10)
Description
Enables or disables all subvolumes. If the parent volume fails to be
enabled or disabled, all its subvolumes fail to be enabled or
disabled.
You can associate a specified volume with a specified replication volume and set the volume
to the VVR log volume of the replication volume by running the command vxvol [-fqV]
[-g diskgroup] [-r rvg] aslog rvg volume.
You can associate a specified volume with a specified replication volume and set the volume
to the data volume of the replication volume by running the command vxvol [-fqV] [-g
diskgroup] [-m] [-r rvg] assoc rvg volume [primary_datavol].
You can separate a specified volume from associated replication volume groups by running
the command vxvol [-fqV] [-g diskgroup] dis volume.
You can initialize and start a volume by running the command vxvol [-faqV] [-g
diskgroup] [-U usetype] [-o useopt] start volume. The volume created by using the
command vxassist make is not initialized, or the status of the volume is set to uninitialized,
so you can initialize the volume by running the command vxvol.
You can initialize and start all volumes by running the command vxvol [-faqV] [-g
diskgroup] [-U usetype] [-o useopt] startall.
You can stop a volume by running the command vxvol [-faqV] [-g diskgroup] [-U
usetype] [-o useopt] stop volume. If you choose the –f parameter to disable the current
volume opened to the program, the volume is kept open, but the data on the volume cannot
be accessed. Reading data from or writing data to the volume fails. This may cause data
loss. A disk group can be exported completely if you stop all the volumes in the disk group.
