Calibration
Note that the new values are displayed on the bottom line with the older val-
ues (those current at the time Autocalibration was invoked) posted immedi-
ately above them for comparison. These in turn will be replaced by the
current bottom line values if and when Autocalibration is repeated.
If the results of Autocalibration are not satisfactory, you might improve per-
formance by changing Motor Speed Pot (scan rate), changing the label
position relative to the scanner, or other parameters listed in this chapter
and in Step 10, "Adjust Other Scanning Parameters," on page 1-16.
If label placement or other changes have been made, recalculate the num-
ber-of-scans and repeat Autocalibration.
If the scanner was unable to decode the label, "Autocalibration failed" will be
displayed, as follows:

6. Record label, range, gain, motor, tracking, and read rate values for
future reference.
Depending on your application, you might want to check for depth-of-field
(minimum/maximum range) by moving the label in and out relative to the
scanner and noting the points at which the read rates on the calibration
screen fall below your acceptable level.
7. Autocalibration:by menu commandTo exit the Calibration menu, press
the ESC key. You will see the following prompt on the: bottom line
Caution: Restoring factory settings will change Gain and Tracking settings and
hence nullify the changes made by the autocalibration procedure.
