Program Management Commands

<A> Software Reset. Initializes all serial
configuration commands in RAM and resets
all counters and operating parameters.
Changes for Baud Rate, Stop Bits, Code
Length, etc. do not take effect until this com-
mand is sent.
Note: Software Reset will cause the numeric counters in use to lose their count;
record all data that you wish to save prior to sending this command.
<D> Enter Configuration Menu. Enters the menu configuration program.
(Can be entered from the auxiliary port.)
<Z> Save Configuration for Power-on.
Saves the current configuration to nonvola-
tile memory for availability on power-on.
The values of numeric counters are not
saved by this command.
Note: The <Z> Save Configuration com-
mand can be executed 10,000 times. In normal usage this will exceed the life of
the decoder. If frequent changes to the operating parameters are required, the
<Z> command should be used only when the current configuration has been
changed and the changes are to be permanent.
<t> Calibration (Setup Menu). Allows you to monitor the scanner's optical
parameters, optimize performance, and make custom adjustments for special
applications. (Can be entered from the auxiliary port.)
<KT> Autocalibration Initiate. Initiates autocalibration changes and inter-
nal scanner settings. (See
<KTD> Autocalibration Default. Resets autocalibration and motor speed
settings to factory defaults.
<KTZ> Autocalibration Save. Saves the settings changed in autocalibra-
tion for power up.

Device Control Commands

<Bdata> Echo Data to Aux Monitor. Echoes data from host to auxiliary
monitor (see
Appendix I, "Auxiliary Monitor," on page A-16
<H> Enable Laser Scanning. Normal Operation.
1. The <D> and <t> commands are the only commands that the MS-7100/7180 scanner will
recognize from an auxiliary terminal.
