Chapter 3
Serial Configuration
Host Port
Note: Changes made in the scanner's communications parameters such as
baud rate, parity, stop bits, LRC, etc., must be matched in the other device(s) or
communications will be lost. If this occurs, default the scanner as described in
Appendix E — "Defaulting the Scanner."
Format: <Kymode,baud rate, parity,stop bits,data bits>
baud rate:
0 = 600
4 = 9600
1 = 1200
5 = 19.2K
2 = 2400
6 = 38.4K
3 = 4800
Example: To change Data Bits to Eight without changing any other fields,
enter either <Ka,,,1> or <Ka4,1,0,1>.
Format: <KbRS-422 status>
RS-422 status:
0 = Disabled
Example: To enable RS-422, enter <Kb1>.
This command assumes the scanner is in RS-232 before RS-422 is
enabled. If a multidrop address has been already assigned, the scanner will
be in RS-485 communications, regardless of displayed RS-422 status.
Auxiliary Port
Format: <Kymode,baud rate, parity,stop bits,data bits>
mode:
0 = Disabled
1 = Transparent
2 = Half Duplex
3 = Full Duplex
4 = Daisy Chain
Example: To enable Half Duplex and change the baud rate to 2400, enter
<Ky2,2>.
Communications Status Request
Format: <KG?1>
Returns status of each command in the group.
