When scanning with the document cover open, avoid looking directly at the copy
lamp. Direct eye exposure can cause eye fatigue or damage.

Document Glass

The document glass accepts single-sheet or book form
documents of sizes up to 297 × 432mm (A3, 11 × 17 inches).
The document glass can auto-detect only documents of standard
sizes. For documents that of not of a standard size, input the size
in the Scan Size field.
For information about entering document sizes, refer to "Scan
Size (Specifying a Scanning Size)," page 38.
NOTE: The standard document sizes that can be auto-detected
depend on the Paper Size Settings in the System Administration
mode. For more information, refer to "Paper Size Settings" in the
System Administration Guide.
WARNING:When scanning a thick document, do not use excessive force
to press it against the document glass. The glass could break and cause
injury.
1.
Open the document cover.
2.
Place the document face down, and align it against the inside
left corner of the document glass.
3.
Close the document cover.
