Setting and Restoring the Nikon Plug-in State – Windows

The Set Default Method

One can think of the set default state as a temporary storage location that can be
rapidly accessed. The temporary storage place is in the plug-in's NKNCTRL.INI file.
When the plug-in is first run, there is no state stored in the NKNCTRL.INI file.
Rather, the plug-in uses its factory default state. These factory default settings are resi-
dent in the plug-in itself.
By saving the current state using the S

The factory default settings can be recalled at any time by deleting the

NKNCTRL.INI file, then restarting the application. If there is no NKNCTRL.INI
file available, the plug-in will automatically use the factory default settings.

The User-Named Method

You may desire to have several different scanner settings readily available. To
accomplish this, you can load and save these settings into user-named settings files.
These files are named by following the standard DOS file system conventions.
