• Problem: The Nikon Software Installer reports that it cannot read my third-
party application disks during the installation, but when I run the
third-party installer outside of the Nikon Installer the disks are read
problem.
Action: This problem is due to an error in reading different density media. We
advise you to install your third-party software first, then update the scan drivers with the
Nikon Installer disk.
• Problem: My system won't boot after I install the SCSI controller card in my PC
or compatible.
Action: You have an interrupt conflict. For Coolscan, refer to the section in the
Installation Guide on setting the SCSI card configuration, which will direct you on how
to assign one of three possible interrupts to your SCSI host card. For LS-3510-AF/LS-
3500, refer to the technical guide accompanying your particular SCSI controller card.
You may have a conflict with a video card driver, or a driver from another
installed hardware device. The SCSI controller card accompanying Coolscan will run
in a large number of PCs with no change in settings required.
Please contact Nikon Technical Support if you are unable to resolve the problem.
