Software Installation – Macintosh
If you selected the Easy Install option in Step 4, all files necessary for operating a
Nikon LS-3510AF GPIB model scanner will be copied and extracted to your hard disk.
A folder named Nikon Control will be created on the hard disk, in this example on the
hard disk "System." The NB-Handler software will be installed in the Control Panels
folder in your System Folder if you are using System 7. Your system will automatically
be restarted at the end of the installation, so that the GPIB drivers will load.
If you selected a Nikon device other than the LS-3510AF GPIB model for instal-
lation, as in Step 5, all relevant files will be copied and extracted to your hard disk.

Step 8. In most cases, a message will be displayed informing you that the installa-
tion was completed successfully. Be sure to make note of any error messages that
appear, before contacting Nikon Technical Support. Some virus detection software may
be triggered by the Nikon Installer. You should disable them before using the Nikon
Installer.
If you are installing a Nikon LS-3510AF with a SCSI interface, using the built-in
SCSI interface on the Macintosh, connect the DB25 to SCSI II cable adapter to the rear
panel connector on the Macintosh, then to the Mini 50-pin connector on the
LS-3510AF. If this is the only device on the SCSI bus, connect a terminator to the sec-
ond plug on the Nikon device. Restart your Macintosh and proceed to the chapter
"Getting Started on the Macintosh."
