Disk Drive Status Faults

Each disk drive has a corresponding status LED on the Front Panel:
Under normal operation, the status LED is constant blue and will flash blue as the
drive operates.
If the status LED is constant amber, a disk drive fault exists.
If the status LED is flashing amber, the disk drive is rebuilding.
A global disk activity LED is also present on the Front Panel. This LED will illuminate
blue when there is activity present on any installed disk drive.

Dealing with Hardware Faults

Ensure that you have obtained a replacement component of the same type before
removing any faulty component.
Replace a faulty drive with a drive of the same type of equal or greater capacity.
Refer to your vendor-supplied documentation when using storage software for
handling drive-related hardware faults.
All the supplied internal components and disk drives must be in place for the air to
flow correctly around the cabinet.
Caution: Observe all conventional ESD precautions when handling system components.
Important: The top cover of the enclosure covers a service area which should be accessed only by
qualified service personnel. When the cover is replaced it MUST be secured by tightening
the two captive screws at the rear of the chassis. A Phillips* screwdriver may be used to
tighten the captive screws.
