Reception Functions

Transfer Station

Transfer Stations allow you to expand
the standard functions of your fax
machine to set up complex networks.
The diagram below may make the
concept clearer.
The following terminologies are used
in this section:
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Requesting Party
The machine where the message
originates.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Transfer Station (this machine)
The machine that forwards the in-
coming message to another desti-
nation.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Receiving Station
The facsimile or computer that re-
c e ive d t he m es sag e f rom t he
Transfer Station.
The final destination of the mes-
sage, that is the machine the Trans-
fer Station sends to. Receiving
Stations must be programmed into
a Quick Dial or Groups in the
Transfer Station.
Preparation
This machine can receive forward-
ing requests by e-mail. Before you
can use this function, you must
make the following preparations.
• Program each Transfer Station
Receiving Station
• Program the same Polling ID in
Receiving Station
Receiving Station
• The Requesting Party's fax

• The End Receiver's fax number
Note
❒ You cannot receive e-mails unless
your machine has the capacity to
store two or more destinations
specified using the number keys.
❒ If the Requesting Party specifies a
Group for the Receiving Stations
and the total number of Receiving
Stations exceeds 500, the Transfer
Station cannot transfer the mes-
sage and sends a Transfer Result
Report to the Requesting Party.
