Fan Problems
A chassis code which indicates that a fan has failed (FLT D01 n ) or is running too slowly
(WRN D02 n ) within a J5000 or J7000 workstation specifies the fan number, n . Table 3-2
maps these fan numbers to the physical locations of the fans within each workstation.

In the case of a fan problem, you will need to replace:
• The fan itself, if it is either a system board cooling fan or an I/O cooling fan
• The entire system board tray assembly, if it is a turbocooler fan (that is, a fan mounted
on a PA-8500 microprocessor on the system board)
• The power supply, if it is a power supply fan
