7.1 Security

7.1.1 Safety instructions for operation

 Before initial commissioning and after every maintenance or repair, check that the product is functioning
correctly
(> see chap. 6.3 Checks before commissioning,
Risk of the load or lifting device falling:
DANGER
Falling objects when handling over 1.8 m
Serious injuries or death!
WARNING
Serious injuries or death from falling objects!
WARNING
The load hook can open if the load chain is not tensioned. The lifting device may
fall down.

Cordon off the work area when handling loads whose lower edge is over 1.8 m.
Wear an industrial safety helmet.
Always apply the load securing chain(s) before handling the suctioned load.
Always keep the load securing chain(s) taut.
Ensure that nobody is in the danger zone before handling.
Never carry loads over people.
Observe the maximum permissible load capacity (see type plate and load capacity sti-
cker on the suction plate).
Ensure that the maximum permissible load of the lifting aid is at least as great as the
dead weight of the lifting device with suction plate and the permissible load of the lifting
device.
Ensure that there are no loose objects on the load.
Do not store loads suspended.
When lowering the lifting device, ensure that the load chain is under slight tension.
