8.1.2 Protective equipment

The following protective equipment is required for installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair work:
Safety shoes safety class S1 or better
Sturdy work gloves safety category 2231 or better
Class F safety goggles
Acid-resistant work gloves and safety goggles when working on the battery
8.2 Help in the event of faults
 If the load cannot be lifted, go through the following list to find and rectify the fault:
Malfunction
Vacuum generator is working,
but load is not sucked in.
The vacuum pumps work, but
no load is drawn in.
Minimum vacuum -500 mbar is
not reached.

Cause
The suction plate does not
completely cover the load.
Leakage air is sucked in.
Dust filter is dirty.
Hose connection or screw con-
nections are leaking.
Valves are dirty.
Manual slide valve:
The manual slide valve is in the
"Release load" position.
The manual slide valve is de-
fective.
One or more vacuum pumps
has/have failed.
Sealing lip of the suction plate
is damaged.
Load has cracks, recesses or
is porous.
Pressure gauge is defective.
Hose or screw connections are
leaking.
Vacuum switch is misaligned or
defective.
Remedy
 Position the lifting device
on the load so that the suc-
tion plate completely
covers the load.
 Clean or replace the filter
cartridge of the dust filter.
 Replace or seal compo-
nents.
 Have the valves cleaned by
Probst Service.
 Move the manual slide val-
ve to the "suck in load" po-
sition.
 Replace manual slide val-
ve.
1. Take the lifting device out
of operation.
2. Contact Probst Service.
 Replace the suction plate.
Handling the load is not permit-
ted with this lifting device.
 Replace pressure gauge.
 Seal or replace compo-
nents.
 Contact Probst Service.
