2 Basic safety instructions
2 Basic safety instructions
2.1 Intended use
The stone magnet lifting device is used for lifting and transporting flat, absorbent stone slabs made of granite,
marble, WET CAST, etc., as well as concrete elements, natural stone, sandstone, steps, stoneware pipes, etc.
at ground level (guide value <1.8 m).
The lifting device must be attached to a suitable carrier device (crane , construction site vehicle etc.) using a
suspension rope or chain.
The suction surfaces of the load to be lifted must be suction-tight. If the vacuum generation fails, it must be pos-
sible to hold the lifted load for another 5 minutes. If necessary, this must be ensured by carrying out several
lifting tests.
The load to be lifted must have sufficient inherent stability so that it is not damaged during gripping and hand-
ling.
The suction plate is not part of the scope of delivery. The operator must ensure that only suction plates that are
suitable for the load to be lifted are used. It must be intended for attachment to the lifting device.
The lifting device is built according to the state of the art and is delivered in a safe operating condition, but ha-
zards can still arise during use.
The maximum permissible load must not be exceeded. It depends on the suction plate used (see load plate on
the suction plate).
2.2 Non-intended use
Probst accepts no liability for damage caused by the use of the lifting device for purposes other than those
described in the intended use. Use of the lifting device for loads that are not specified in the order confirmation
or have physical properties other than the loads specified in the order confirmation is considered improper use.
In particular, the following types of use are considered improper:
•
Use as a climbing aid.
•
Lifting people or animals.
•
Handling damaged loads
•
Storing the load in the suctioned state
•
Suction of building parts, equipment or the ground
•
Suction of liquid.
•
Suction of bulk material (e.g. granulates)
•
Evacuation of objects at risk of implosion
•
Supporting the lifting movement by applying external forces
•
Suspending loads with ropes, chains or similar.
