9 Maintenance
9.4.2 Checking vacuum hoses and hose connections
1. Check the vacuum hoses for wear.
2. Replace damaged vacuum hoses (chafing, breaks, kinks, etc.).
3. Check the quick couplings and push-in fittings for leaks.
9.4.3 Checking the tightness of the lifting device
Check the tightness of the entire lifting device monthly.
1. Switch on the vacuum generator.
2. Place the lifting device on a test load with an absorbent, smooth surface, e.g. a metal sheet.
3. Open the vacuum supply.
4. Allow the vacuum to build up until it no longer rises.
5. Lift the load by only a few centimeters.
6. Switch off the vacuum generator.
7. Observe the pressure drop on the pressure gauge.
 The vacuum may drop by a maximum of 0.1 bar within 5 minutes (only valid for suction-tight loads).
 After the test, detach the lifting device from the load (> see section Removing the load).
When the vacuum dissipates more quickly:
1. Check the suction plate or sealing lip, hose, hose connections and screw connections as well as the non-
return valve for damage and leaks and replace if necessary.
2. Check the vacuum filter and clean or replace the filter cartridge if necessary.

9.5 Cleaning or replacing the dust filter

The condition of the dust filter can be checked visually (transparent housing).
DANGER
Insufficient vacuum due to clogged dust filter .
Serious injuries or death due to falling load!
NOTE
Dust gets into the pipes when the filter cartridge is removed.
Damage to the vacuum generator
48
Depending on the dust load, clean the dust filter at least once a week.
When removing the filter cartridge, ensure that no dust gets into the pipes.
Do not knock out the filter cartridge.
