b Face-down tray area
If the trailing edge of the paper has come out of the fixing assembly

Open the face-up tray and make sure that the trailing edge of the paper has come out
of the fixing assembly. Then pull the paper out.
If the trailing edge of the paper is inside the fixing assembly

First open the face up tray until it stops halfway. Then, gently lower it all the way down
(see page 147).

Grasp both edges of the paper, and gently pull it out from around the roller and toward
you q. After the paper's end has rolled out, slowly pull the paper out toward you w.
Do not try to remove the paper by force. Please follow the paper jam clearing
procedure described here.
Press in the stoppers on each side of the tray to release it and open it until it
is horizontal.
