4.Effective Operation of the Machine

4.1 How to start and stop the engine

4.1.1 How to start the engine

・Do not start the engine in a confined space or a place with insufficient ventilation.
Engine sxhaust is odorless and contains carbon monoxide which can cause death.
・DO NOT handle gasoline in the presence of lit cigarettes, open flame, or other
sources of ignition. Gasoline is an extremely flammable liquid and there is a danger
of fires and explosions.

Be sure to sit on the seat and start the Engine.
・
The parking brake is in the "LOCK" position, and the cutting height adjustment lever is
in the "MOVE" position, the engine does not stop even if you stand up from the seat.
However, if you stand from the seat at other positions, the engine will be stopped for
safety reasons. In this case, it causes wear on the battery if you leave it like this
(because the engine oil warning light and the pilot light are turned on). Therefore the
parking brake and the cutting height adjustment lever will go back to the startin g
position; the ignition is back to "OFF" position.
Fuel valve
① Move the fuel valve lever to the "OPEN" position.
② Sit on the seat.
