Chapter 7. Update-Diskette Installation Procedures
If you have requested and received an update-diskette package from IBM,
follow the procedures in this chapter to update your customized IBM 3274
Control Units.
The update-diskette package is for use only on previously customized 3274
Control Units and should not be used prior to initial customizing. It is
recommended that each update-diskette package be installed on your 3274
Control Units as soon as· possible after the package is received.
RPQ Update-Diskette Installation
If your 3274 has not been customized, and you have received a new RPQ
diskette, follow the Initial Customizing Procedure in Chapter 4.
If your 3274 has been customized, and you have received only a new RPQ
diskette (no new feature, system, or load diskettes), use the Modification
Procedure in Chapter 5 to install the new RPQ diskette.
If your update-diskette package includes new feature, system, or load
diskettes in addition to a new RPQ diskette, use the appropriate procedure
in this chapter for your configuration support to install the update-diskette
package.
Language Update-Diskette Installation
Note: Do not install the new language diskette unless the release level
number on the new language diskette is greater than or equal to the release
level

If your 3274 has not been customized, and you have received a new
language diskette, follow the Initial Customizing Procedure in Chapter 4.
If your 3274 has been customized, and you have received only a new
language diskette (no new feature, system, or load diskettes), use the
Modification Procedure in Chapter 5 to install the new language diskette.
If your update-diskette package includes new feature, system, or load
diskettes in addition to a new language diskette, use the appropriate
procedure in this chapter for your configuration support to install the
update-diskette package.
