When a Model lC, 21C, 31C, or 51C is being customized, some sequence
numbers are not asked. The responses to those sequence numbers are filled
in internally by the 3274 and displayed for the operator during t.he
verification step of the initial customizing procedure (Initial Customizing
Procedure Form, step 9). Many of these defaulted responses are determined
by the response given to sequence number 343 (Communication Interface
Options). Figure 3-5 shows those default values. Figure 3-5 does not list all
the sequence numbers that may be necessary to customize a 3274 Model C.
Use the remainder of this chapter to determine the proper responses to
sequence numbers that are not listed in the figure.
Find your response to sequence number 343 at the top of the chart (Figure
3-5). The default values are given in the shaded blocks in the column for
that response. The sequence numbers are listed in the left column of the
chart. Use the values in the shaded blocks as the responses to the sequence
numbers in step 8 of the Initial Customizing Procedure Form. Blank blocks
indicate that you should use the sequence number explanations in the
remainder of this chapter to decide on the proper response.
Other sequence numbers are conditionally defaulted. Those default values
and conditions are as follows:

You may eliminate many of the sequence numbers for your configuration by
using the preceding information to fill in the default values in step 8 on the
Initial Customizing Procedure Form. After filling in the default values, you
can fill in unanswered sequence numbers by using the explanations in the
remainder of this chapter.
Use the following descriptions in conjunction with the Initial Customizing
Procedure Form in Chapter 4 to customize a 3274 Model lC, 21C, 31C, or
51C.
