- - - - - - - - - Direct key supported
Note: If the X.21 Switched feature is being used, either digit 7 or digit 8
must be specified as
1,
depending on which DCE support is used.
Port AO access to the X.21 options is determined as follows: With the
exception of the Direct and Dial keys (digits 1 and 2), port AO always has
access to all the X.21 options. Access to Direct and to Dial is dependent on
the status of the DCE for direct calls (digit 7) and address calls (digit 8). If
direct calls are supported (digit 7 specified as 1), the Direct key is supported
on port AO. If address calls are supported (digit 8 specified as 1), the Dial
key is supported on port AO. If both digits 7 and 8 are specified as 1, both
the Direct and Dial keys are supported on port AO.
Example: 00011001 indicates thatthe Disconnect key (digit 4 specified as 1)
and the Extension key (digit 5 specified as 1) can be used on all Category A
terminals attached to the 327 4. All Category A terminals support the DCE
for address calls (digit 8 specified as 1). Since the E:l{tension key allows
access to all other X.21 keys, it must be specified if the other keys are to be
used. Regardless of the response to this sequence number, the terminal
attached to port AO always has access to all the X.21 options.
