Insert the new system diskette.
Insert the RPQ diskette. (If multiple RPQs
are to be processed, repeat this step as
required.)
Insert the language diskette.
Insert the new feature diskette.
The configuration support (A, B, or C) of
the new system diskette is not compatible
with this 3274. Terminate this procedure,
and follow your local procedure for
problem recovery.
The current system diskette is not
customized. Use the proper customized
diskette, and retry from step 3. If retry is
not successful, follow your local procedure
for problem recovery.
W rang system diskette. Insert the system
diskette normally used in daily operation,
and retry from step 3. If retry is not
successful, follow your local procedure for
problem recovery.
The diskette was improperly inserted or an
internal 327 4 error occurred. Retry from
step 3 with the diskette inserted properly.
If retry is not successful, follow your local
procedure for problem recovery.
This diskette may be faulty. Retry from
step 3 with the backup diskette, if
available. If retry is not successful, follow
your local procedure for problem recovery.
The update procedure is completed, and
normal startup (IML) can be performed.
Note: Indicator codes other than those shown above indicate a possible
malfunction. Retry the operation once, starting with step 3. If the
same. error recurs, refer to Figures 7-1 and 7-2 for the meaning of the
indicator code and for the action to take. If progress cannot be made,
record the 8 4 2 1 indicator code and follow your local procedure for
problem recovery.
8. If a new backup system diskette is desired, repeat the procedure from
step 3, using the new backup system diskette in place of the new system
diskette.
9. After the update procedure is completed, follow your local procedure for
disposing of all excess diskettes.
