Remedy
Is media fed to media discharge
sensor?
Go to Step 8.
Is cut sheet media fed?
Go to step 4.
Cut sheet detection
sensor (PS1}
Cut sheet trailing
edge sensor (PS7
Roll media detec-
tion sensor (PS2)
Set the tester range to 12 VDC,
and connect the tester probes
to J207-A2 (+) (CTPSET) and
J207-A1 (-), and J207-B11 (+)
(ENDPSN) and J207-B10 (-) on
the engine controller PCB. Does
the voltage change from 5 V to
0 V when cut sheet media is
inserted into the media feed
inlet in the cut sheet media
mode?

Check wiring. If normal, replace
sensor.
Set the tester range to 12 VDC,
and connect the tester probes
to J207-A5 (+) (RLPSET) and
J207-A4 (-) on the engine
controller PCB. Does the volt-
age change from 5 V to0 V
when roll media is inserted into
the media feed inlet in the roll
media mode?
Check wiring. If normal, replace
sensor.
Media feed detec-
tion sensor (PS8)
Is the problem solved by repiac-
ing media feed detection sensor
(PS8)?

Turn the power switch OFF,
then disconnect J305 from the
motor driver PCB. Set the tester
range to x10Q, and measure the
resistances across the motor
connector terminals shown in
the following table. Are
resistances normal?
