3. Skewed Feed Detection
Media skew is detected by detecting the position of the right edge of the media after the media has been
fed by a fixed distance with respect to a position on the right of the media detected by media width detection.
To determine the position of the right edge of the media, the average number of pulses during advance
and retraction output from the linear encoder after the carriage leaves its home position up to when the right
edge of the media is detected.

@ Cut sheet media
The 1st skew detection is carried out after feeding the media 300 mm after media width detection. The
media is then fed further, and the 2nd skew detection is carried out when the trailing edge of the media
has passed beyond the cut sheet trailing edge sensor (PS7).

If the trailing edge has passed beyond the cut sheet trailing edge sensor (PS7) before the media is fed
300 mm, skew detection is carried out at that position.
