CHAPTER 2 OPERATION
al
B. Y-axis Motor Control
1. Outline
The Y-axis motor (M2) is a 5-phase controlled stepping motor.
5-bit parallel signals CMSELES and CMSELO to 3 output from the engine controller are converted to
combinations of 5-phase motor drive pulses (A, B, C, D, E) by the motor driver. Controlling the drive pulses
by these CMSELES and CMSELO to 3 signals switches the rotation direction, rotation speed, and ON/OFF
switching of the Y-axis motor.
Figure 2-202 is a block diagram showing the control circuits of the Y-axis motor.

2. ON/OFF Control
Stopping output of CMSEL signal stop the motor drive pulses from the motor driver to stop the Y-axis
motor.
3. Rotation Direction Control
Changing the order in which the CMSELES and CMSELO to 3 combinations of signals are output changes
the output order of the motor drive pulses to switch the direction of rotation of the Y-axis motor.
