mm CHAPTER 1 GENERAL INTRODUCTION
A. Head Cleaning
This printer is provided with a head cleaning
function designed for maintaining image quality.
With bubble jet method, if air bubbles accumu-
late in the ink nozzles in the head or if ink dries in the
ink nozzles, ink can no tonger be discharged. This
will result in white streaks appearing in images. If
this happens, ask the user to restore the head by
carrying out head cleaning on the control panel.
CAUTION
Thoroughly explain to the user that head
cleaning consumes ink, and that it should
be carried out only when image defects
occur.

Install the new wiper blade.
If dirt or dust adheres to the wiper blade or ink
accumulates on the wiper blade, wiping will not be
carried out properly, resulting in defective or un-
even ink discharge. If head cleaning does not solve
image defects, replace the wiper blade. Follow the
procedure below to replace the wiper blade.
As a guidelines, replace the wiper blade
