3. Principle of Ink Discharge

The surface tension of the ink and the external
pressure are balanced.
Heating
The ink next to the heater becomes heated and
small bubbles are generated.
Boiling
The ink evaporates rapidly, and the small bubbles
grow larger into a single bubble.
Expansion
The bubble expands to its maximum size, and ink is
forced outward.
Contraction
The bubble contracts, and at the same time, the tip
of the ink pillar is ejected.
Vanishing
Ink supply
Ink is supplied to the orifice by capillary action.
