A. initial Inspection
Broadly speaking, image defects are caused by the following four reasons:
* Defective printer operating environment
* Defective media type or state
* Defective bubble jet cartridge
* Defective printer body
Check the operating environment and state of the media at initial inspection.
1. Siting Environment
Check whether or not the operating environment matches the following operating environmental
conditions.
a.
Maintain the power voltage to within 90 to 264 V. Avoid sharing the power supply with other equipment.
b.
The recommended operating environment for this printer is as follows:
Temperature:
17.5 to 27.5°C
Humidity:
25 to 75% (RH)
c.
Avoid locations subject to sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
d.
Avoid siting the printer in dusty locations.
e.
Avoid the direct sunlight. Instruct the user to provide a curtain to shield the printer from direct sunlight if
the printer must be sited in the direct sunlight.
f.
Site the printer on a level location.
g.
Avoid siting the printer in air emitted directly from electric fan or air conditioning equipment.
2. Checking the Media
The quality of prints made by a bubble jet printer is influenced greatly by the type and state of the media.
So, inspect the state of the media loaded on the printer when making the initial inspection.

Is the recommended media in use?
b.
Is the media stored in the appropriate environment?
