IV. PURGE UNIT
A. Outline
The purge unit on this printer is provided with capping and head cleaning functions. The capping function
is for preventing the head from drying or dirt and dust from adhering to the head. The head cleaning function
is for maintaining the head in an optimum working state.
These functions are driven by purge motor (M3) and two solenoids (SL1, SL2). Purge motor drive is
switched to rotate a cap cam and guide roller by two one-way gears.
