Functions
After the forced position is triggered, the SMI Master Module does not pass any specific
SMI commands or setpoints to the SMI LoVo Drives. The SMI LoVo Drives cannot be
controlled again until the cause that triggered the motion to the forced position is elimi-
nated.

4.2.1.1.3 2-Button Mode

2-button mode allows basic manual control of SMI LoVo Drives. The short button press
time can be configured in the SMI Master Module. A button press is interpreted as a long
press once the amount of time set in the configuration has passed. The SMI LoVo Drives
can be moved with long and short button presses. The process image contains one but-
ton input for the upward motions and one for the downward motions.
In the event of a long button press, the SMI LoVo Drives move the shutters to the top or
bottom end position. A short button press interrupts the current motion and allows you to
position the shutter step by step from the resting state. If the SMI LoVo Drives are in mo-
tion, you can stop them with a short button press.

4.2.1.2 Digital Output

The digital output is linked to energy saving mode. Evaluation of the digital output signal
allows external energy-saving measures to be taken, e.g., shutting off external sources of
power to the SMI LoVo Drives (see
The SMI Master Module can be configured to apply 0 V or 24 V at the digital output when
energy saving mode is enabled. In the factory default setting, 0 V is applied to the digital
output when the energy saving function is enabled.
If 0 V is set, the settling time of the SMI LoVo Drives is taken into account when the SMI
master module is switched on. Communication with the drives is not possible until the set-
ting time has elapsed.
If 24 V is set, the settling time of the SMI LoVo Drives is not taken into account when the
SMI master module is switched on.
The digital output is a 24 VDC output in accordance with IEC 61131-2.
The load to be switched must be connected to the ground wire of the power supply.

4.2.1.3 Automatic Addressing

The SMI Master Module offers the option of readdressing the connected
SMI LoVo Drives.
