8.3 Application Example

8.3.1 Use 1-Button Operating Mode

CAUTION
External button moves all SMI drives simultaneously
By pressing the external button, all SMI drives connected to the SMI master module are
addressed and moved simultaneously. An unprepared range of motion can lead to per-
sonal injury/property damage.
Before pressing the external button, check that there are no persons or objects
within the range of motion.
1. Connect an external button to the digital input of the SMI master module.
2. If necessary, enable the 1-button operating mode.
ð By default, the 1-button operating mode is enabled.
3. Use the external button to move the SMI drives to the desired position.
4. Repeat step 3 for each additional position change.
5. After completing the work, press the external button to move the SMI drives to a safe
position.
ð The operator of the hangings can tell you which is a safe position.
6. Report information on the completion of all work on hangings to the competent au-
thorities.
ð The competent authorities can reactivate the control failure monitoring function by

SMI drives can be damaged or cause property damage by weather-related events.
