6.1 Configuration and Parameterization with WAGO Software

The SMI Master Module and the SMI LoVo Drives connected to it can be configured ei-
ther via the IEC function blocks or the WAGO SMI Configurator.
The example commissioning described below requires that the fieldbus node hardware
and SMI line are set up correctly and are functioning properly.

6.1.1 Preparing and Carrying Out the Example Configuration

In the example given here, the fieldbus node consists of the following WAGO I/O System
components:

The SMI master module in the fieldbus node is powered via the power jumper contact.
The fieldbus node is ready for use when the following requirements are met:
ü At least one SMI LoVo Drive must be connected as a subscriber to the SMI connec-
tions of the SMI master module.
ü The fieldbus node must be connected to the PC via an RJ-45 cable.
ü The network card of the PC must be configured according to the address range of the
fieldbus node.
ü As an alternative, the connection can also be established via the controller's serial
service interface.
Use the WAGO communication cable (item no. ü 750-923) to establish a physical
connection via the serial service interface.
ü The power supply for the fieldbus node must be switched on.
ü The top and bottom end positions of the SMI LoVo Drives must be set.
• Next, use the available tools to parameterize and configure the SMI LoVo Drives.
