5.1 Structure Guidelines
5.1.1 Buffering
To compensate for power interruptions per IEC 61131 (PS-1 or PS-2), external buffering
is required.
5.2 Behavior on switching on/off and in the event of communication
interruption
When the SMI master module is first commissioned, the control failure monitoring func-
tion is disabled as long as no running application is installed on the controller.
The 1-button operating mode is used to manually operate all SMI drives connected to the
SMI master module using an external button connected to the digital input.
As long as there is no running application on the controller, the SMI drives must be
moved to a safe position via an external button after all assembly work has been com-
pleted and the persons in charge must be informed of the complete completion of all work
to enable control failure monitoring if necessary.
After resetting the SMI master module, the controller failure monitoring is inactive until the
application on the controller is properly restarted.
When the external button is pressed, all SMI drives connected to the SMI master module
are addressed and moved simultaneously.
For performing maintenance work on the SMI drives or the shutters the control lock must
be activated.
