Motor and Encoder / Scale Configuration

9.1 Required Information

This chapter identifies the required information to be provided to YASKAWA in order to
create the motor and encoder/scale parameter file for rotary and linear motors of the
feedback option module.
Before first use, this module must be configured for the customer's application. This is
done by means of an individual parameter file for the respective application, which is
transferred to the feedback option module.
The parameter file is created by YASKAWA based on the information requested in the fol-
lowing sub-chapters of this chapter. Please contact YASKAWA Europe Headquarters to
obtain an individual parameter file for your application.

For fully-closed loop operation, please complete the "Parameter File Requirements
for Encoders" form and send it to YASKAWA Europe Headquarters.

For semi-closed loop operation, please complete the "Parameter File Requirements
for Encoders" form and the "Parameter File Requirements for SERVOPACKs for
Rotary Motors" form or "Parameter File Requirements for SERVOPACKs for Linear
Motors" form, and send them to YASKAWA Europe Headquarters.
If these forms are not provided, YASKAWA cannot support the customer, but can help
you find all the information.
YASKAWA is not responsible for any damages, errors or other malfunc-
tions that result from providing wrong data. Please take care to provide
correct information.
For information on downloading parameter files to the feedback module, see the relevant
chapter on the set-up procedure.
Keep the parameter file as part of the machine documentation! Parameter files are usu-
ally only for the specific use of a feedback module within its machine environment.
It is not possible to read back configuration information from the feedback
module.
