Cause
The setting of Pn212
(Encoder Output Pulses) or
Pn281 (Encoder Output
Resolution) is outside of the
setting range or does not
satisfy the setting condi-
tions.
n
The value of the pro-
gram jogging movement
speed (Pn533 or Pn585)
is below the setting
range.
The required parame-
n
ters (Pn001, Pn601, and
Pn604) have not been
set.
n
Rotary Servomotor: The
pulse output speed for
the setting of Pn212
(Encoder Output Pulses)
was exceeded.
n
Linear Servomotor: The
motor speed upper limit
for the setting of Pn281
(Encoder Output Reso-
lution) was exceeded.
An external encoder fault
occurred.
An error occurred in the
Serial Converter Unit.
An external encoder fault
occurred. The specified
cable is not used or the
cable is too long.
An error occurred in the
position data of the external
encoder.
An overspeed error
occurred in the external
encoder.
An overheating error
occurred in the external
encoder.
Wiring of cable between
external encoder and feed-
back option card is incorrect
or contact is faulty.
Investigative Actions
Check the parameters
Pn212 and Pn281.
/// Disable Pn080.0 (Polarity
Sensor Selection) and set to
1 (Do not use polarity
sensor).
Check that the detection
conditions are satisfied.
Check the encoder output
pulse and the encoder
output resolution output set-
ting.

Errors in Fully-closed Loop Control
Corrective Actions
Set Pn212 and Pn281 to a
correct value.
Increase the setting for pro-
gram jogging movement
speed (Pn533 or Pn585).
Decrease the setting of the
encoder output pulse
(Pn212) or of the encoder
output resolution (Pn281).
Replace the external
encoder.
Check wiring and encoder
signals.
Replace the external
encoder.
The absolute external
encoder may be faulty.
Refer to the encoder manu-
facture's instruction manual
for corrective actions.
Replace the external
encoder.
Replace the external
encoder.
Correct the cable wiring.
