Optical alignment optimizes the energy throughput to the detector. Alignment can change
slightly over time, particularly in locations that have large temperature swings or excessive
vibration. After you power up the instrument, allow approximately 6 hours for the instrument
to reach thermal equilibrium before you align it. Repeat alignment every two weeks.
Align the instrument optics immediately:
• If the

(transmittance) test
• After you
calibrate the laser
Before you align the instrument, make sure the
sampling arm should be down.

1. From the qPro main window, click System Tools and then click Alignment.
The workflow shows its historical results.
2. Make sure the sampling arm is closed and then click continue.
3. Make sure Start a new alignment is selected and then click continue.
Follow the instructions in the workflow. When the workflow is completed, a pass or fail
result is displayed. If alignment fails, consult the
Troubleshooting section.
4. Click continue to return to System Tools.
5. Click the Home button at the top of the qPro window to return to the home screen.
