Section 3 Troubleshooting Zeroing Issues with the FOS System
If the FOS sensor is unable to Zero the following information will assist in
troubleshooting: The display will show "UNABLE TO AUTOZERO FOS" followed by
one of the following messages:
Message (2nd line) Possible Cause(s)
AP Waveform AP Waveform detected
present IAB in patient
Noise on Fiber optic sensor
Check FOS Cal key or FOS sensor partially
connections connected or disconnected
FOS warming up FOS electronics are outside of
Wait to Autozero or expected operating range
Press AP Select and
AP FOS Zero
Press AP Select and FOS sensor reading a pressure
Press AP FOS Zero > 20 mmHg
to Zero LL, CK errors detected
Zero completed but AP values
read > +/- 2 mmHg
Zero could not be completed
for unspecified reason
If none of the corrective actions resolve the issue, perform the Manual zero or switch to
an alternate AP source.

Corrective Actions
• Verify IAB is not inserted
• Perform Manual Zero
• Check FOS connections
• Disconnect and Reconnect Cal key
and sensor
NOTE: Autozero will continue if sensor
and/or cal key are reconnected.
• Wait for FOS Warming up message
to clear
• Perform manual zero
• Check FOS connections
• Perform manual zero
