Summary of Start-up Instructions for Operator mode:

Ensure that you have sufficient power, helium, recorder paper and other supplies. In
addition an Operational check-out, outlined in Chapter 10 should have been performed
recently, generally within one week.
The following table will review the steps for start-up in Operator mode:
ACTION
1. Connect Power
2. Confirm Operations Mode • Press MODE to change to Operator mode
3. Connect ECG
4. Connect AP source
OPERATOR MODE
DETAILS
• Power on pump
• Connect ECG 5 Lead Cable
and/or
• Phone to Phone cable from ECG out
on Monitor
• Use ECG SELECT to change
leads/source/gain
• AP FiberOptix
• Connect the FiberOptix
key to the IABP
• Press AP SELECT to select FiberOptix
signal if not selected
• Zero the sensor PRIOR to insertion
of the IAB
and/or
• AP TRANSDUCER:
• Select AP XDUCER if not selected
• Zero
and/or
• AP MONITOR:
• Connect Phone to Phone cable to IABP
• Press AP SELECT and select MON if
not selected
• Zero on Monitor
• Verify waveform appears on display.
• Check AP scaling
