Battery Charging

The nickel metal hydride (NiMH) internal battery automatically charges when
the ventilator is connected to AC power only if the power switch is in the ON (I)
position. The ON AC Power LED lights to indicate that AC power is connected
and the Battery Charging LED lights to indicate that the charging cycle is in
progress. The battery is fully charged when the Battery Charging LED turns off.
The charging cycle operates in Normal and Standby mode. Battery charge time
is typically less than 5 hours, but can be longer depending on ambient
temperature.
It is important to maintain a fully charged internal battery in case of a power
outage. Recharge the battery if the ventilator has been in storage. An unused,
fully-charged battery depletes within 3 months if the power switch is OFF (O),
and within 2 weeks if the power switch is ON (I).
CAUTION:
During battery charging, disconnecting AC mains power before charging
completes may result in a Battery Depleted or Missing alarm. If a Battery
Depleted or Missing alarm occurs, connect AC power immediately to
avoid total loss of power.
