7.8 Alarm/LED Test

Testing, Calibration, and Performance Verification
The Alarm/LED Test confirms that alarms and LEDs are working properly.
1. Connect the ventilator to AC power and enter Diagnostic mode.
2. Confirm that the ON AC POWER LED is on.
3. Remove the AC power from the back of the ventilator for at least one
minute then reconnect the AC power to the back of the ventilator.
4. Confirm the green BATTERY CHARGING LED lights.
5. At the System Test screen (Figure 7-27), select Primary Audible On
and press Enter to test the alarm.
6. Select Backup Audible On and press Enter to test the alarm.

7. Set the DMM to measure resistance:
Connect the DMM to pins 1 and 6 and verify that resistance is
infinite (open circuit) when Remote Alarm Off is selected on the
System Test screen.
When Remote Alarm On is selected, verify that the DMM
measures 0 ± 3 Ω (closed circuit).
Connect the DMM to pins 1 and 9 and verify that resistance is
infinite (open circuit) when Remote Alarm On is selected.
When Remote Alarm Off is selected, verify that the DMM
measures 0 ± 3 Ω (closed circuit).
8. Remove the DMM leads and return to the System Test screen.
9. Select Alarm LED On, then Silence LED On, and then On Battery LED
On to test LEDs.
