Performing the System Calibration

The calibration procedure provides instructions for the remote calibration of
the BiPAP Focus. The results of this calibration must be printed to a local
printer.
NOTE:
The real-time clock calibration (section 7.5) must be complete before
attempting the system calibration procedure.
Required equipment:
Utility Software, Respironics Utility Tools
(http://my.respironics.com and click on BiPAP Focus Calibration
Software)
Pneumatic calibration analyzer (P/N 1040310 or equivalent) capable
of measuring low pressure (cmH
Flow source capable of providing up to 120 LPM of air to provide
negative/reverse flow
Windows-compatible personal computer running Windows XP version
software.
A working default printer connected to the computer before beginning
the calibration procedure.
BiPAP Focus communications cable kit (P/N 1039800)
Flow control valve (P/N 1006120)
Oxygen enrichment adapter (P/N 312710))
Pressure tubing
Smooth-bore patient tubing
NOTE:
Service calibration procedures require a printer to be assigned to the
service PC: this can be an internal print location (for example, using
Adobe PDF) or a printer connected to the PC. If a print error occurs at the
end of the calibration, the calibration table is cleared and the calibration
must be repeated.
NOTE:
Serial port must be set to COM1.
NOTE:
If not already done, perform the ventilator run-in (section 7.3).
1. Record the serial number and model number exactly as they appear on
the bottom of the ventilator.
2. Connect the serial communications cable between the service PC and
the ventilator, with the software/RASP end connected to the ventilator.
3. Ensure that the ventilator is connected to AC power, then power up in
